Keeping of Omani Spiny-Tailed Lizard at BION Terrarium Center
BION Terrarium Center has many years of experience keeping Omani spiny-tailed lizard (Uromastyx thomasi Parker, 1930).
According to Thomas M.Wilms (Studbook Breeding Programme Uromastyx thomasi Omani spiny-tailed lizard, First annual report (2005), the Omani Spiny-tailed lizard lives in coastal Oman.
The status of the wild population is unknown, but preliminary investigations suggest this species is not common in wide parts of the range. The distribution area of the Omani spiny-tailed lizard (Uromastyx thomasi Parker,1930) (Fig. 1) has a length of approximately 600 km and a maximum width of 230 km.
