Twenty-four new species were recorded for the first time near Yalgoo, about 479 kilometres north-east of Perth, during a seven-day research expedition.About two dozen researchers from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA), WA Museum and Badimia Bandi Barna Aboriginal Corporation took part.The group captured a total of 305 small animals, including birds, lizards, marsupials and frogs.The newly reported species included the southern shovel-nosed snake and the spotted military dragon.
